Are you CHAOTIC ?

If you are involved in Formulation or Formulation analysis on GLP pre-clinical studies, you may be interested in the CHAOTIC discussion group.

The CHAOTIC (Chemical aspects of Toxicology) group was formed in 1982, it meets twice a year and consists of members from Pharmaceutical companies and Contract Research Organisations. The members have interests in test substance formulation, formulation analysis and test substance control. The members are usually graduate level scientists and many are managers. The group also includes members with interest in Quality Assurance but many of those are also experienced analysts.

The group discusses feedback on regulatory agency inspections, has a “help session” and includes several presentations either by members or invited speakers. Representation from CHAOTIC is made at annual meetings with the GLPMA (regulatory body) where its views on the regulations can be expressed and queries answered.

In the past members have produced advisory booklets supported by the GLPMA:

• GLP Applications for Test Substance Control, Formulation, and Analysis.

The informal meetings are an ideal forum to discuss issues either technical or regulatory and to meet up with people with similar business interests.
